L-3 GH-3100 for PC-12 to be Installed at Kansas City Aviation Center

NBAA ANNUAL CONVENTION, ORLANDO, Fla., October 6, 2008 – L-3 Avionics Systems announced today that the Kansas City Aviation Center (KCAC) has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certificate to install the GH-3100 Electronic Standby Instrument System (ESIS) in the Pilatus PC-12 single engine turboprop.

The GH-3100 ESIS is a safety enhancing standby system that combines navigation and flight information into one easy-to-interpret package. Designed to provide flight data in a layout similar to an aircraft’s primary flight displays, it eases the transition from primary to standby instruments by positioning important flight information in a single location rather than on multiple backup instruments. Its integrated air data card eliminates the need for an externally mounted air data computer and its battery backup power allows the unit to continue operation in
the event of a total power loss.

When integrated with the aircraft’s navigational system, the GH-3100 enables pilots to navigate more easily even in instrument conditions.

L-3 Avionics Systems has been helping pilots fly for more than 45 years and provides completely integrated cockpit solutions. The company’s SmartDeck® Integrated Flight Controls and Display System is a glass panel suite that features a revolutionary user interface designed to make flying safer, easier and more enjoyable. In addition to customizing SmartDeck for upcoming aircraft programs, L-3 Avionics continues to provide a wide array of avionics safety technologies, such as the GH-3000 electronic and J.E.T.® standby instruments, SkyWatch® collision avoidance system and Stormscope® lightning detection system, among others.
